Mike Nifong was appointed by Easley to fill a vacancy at the d.a. position. The deal was Nifong promised he wouldn't run for re-election. But guess what.....he did. Maybe this was the only way he could get elected. I don't know, but he didn't have Easley's blessing. Easley probably had someone else in mind. Who?
